The Architecture major was founded in 1984. It enrolled master's students in 1993 and doctoral students in 2009. In Liaoning Province, it was the first to pass the national evaluation of undergraduate and master's education in architecture, and it received excellent evaluations at both undergraduate and master's levels in 2018. It obtained the right to confer a doctoral degree in a first-class discipline in 2013, and established a postdoctoral research mobile station in architecture. At present, it has been built into a national first-class undergraduate major construction point, one of the first batch of advantageous characteristic undergraduate majors in Liaoning universities, one of the first batch of first-class undergraduate education demonstration majors in Liaoning universities, and one of the first-class characteristic disciplines in Liaoning higher education institutions, ranking first in the province. The major mainly cultivates advanced technical talents in the field of architecture who possess knowledge in architectural design, architectural history, architectural technology science, urban design, and interior design, and capable of conducting preliminary planning, architectural theory, architectural education, and other related work.
